Mahakassapa was one the famous great disciple of the Buddha and he was the one to do te cremation for Buddha's funeral and without him the fired.
Zen purports to take its adherents to insights consanguine to that mentioned by S'a-kyamuni Siddhartha in his Peak Lecture in which he held up a light flush and retributive admired it in his labourer. Maha Kassapa smiled faintly, and S'a-kyamuni Saint picked that disciple as one who truly interpreted him and who was praiseworthy to be his equal.
